“Be grateful for the smallest of My graces, because your gratitude compels Me to grant you new graces”. 1701, The Diary of St. Faustina

It is so easy to see what we DON’T have rather than embracing what we DO have. Whether it be time, experiences, location, things, relationships, money, the list goes on. This distracted way of living is often found in our spiritual lives as well.

We often go to the Lord to ask for something. That is so good and beautiful! It is a moment of surrender and humility in which we are saying, “Lord, you are greater than all things. I need help. Please help me.” So, why stop there? We can take it a step further, by adding, “Yet, your will is greater Lord. You know what is best for me. I thank you for what you are doing right now.”

Sometimes our prayers aren’t answered the way we want them to be. Jesus doesn’t answer certain prayers in order to give us something greater! He always brings about greater things. That is why it is so important to first and foremost, give thanks! When we thank Him for our current situations, our hearts can be open to the graces He has waiting for us. -Jesse Iamarino
